Our Philosophy
In the end, a great meal is not about the food and wine. A great meal is an emotional experience. We try to make our meals extraordinary ones by establishing a beautiful place, one filled with a staff that cares about it as they do about their home, where we can care for you as the most important guest in it. Our chefs are meticulous about culinary details, use fundamental techniques and work in a kitchen that delivers the very best products of the earth to the table. No detail or element can be more or less important than another.
A great meal is not one that just fills you up. A great meal is a journey that returns you to sources of pleasure you may have forgotten, taking you to places you haven’t been before.
Our Team

Chef (Sushi Bar)
Chef Hirose began his career in Japan, where he practiced for 17 years, embodying the spirit of shokunin by mastering the preparation of challenging and highly regulated fish such as fugu and hamo at traditional Japanese restaurants in Osaka Prefecture. In 2001, he brought his expertise and dedication to his craft to one of the most traditional Japanese restaurants in New York City. After nearly two decades, following the restaurant’s closure, he assumed the role of Grand Chef at Momokawa, where he continues to uphold the shokunin philosophy of precision, dedication, and excellence in Japanese cuisine.

Luke Hai
Chef (Kitchen)
Chef Hai, after gaining valuable experience in Japanese restaurants in New York City, began his journey at Momokawa over a decade ago. Through dedication and skill, he trained extensively and honed his craft in traditional Japanese cuisine. A few years ago, he earned the position of Kitchen Chef, where he continues to lead and innovate. Hai remains deeply committed to his culinary journey, blending tradition with creativity to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
